Your veins are coursing with excitement! Your suitcase has long been packed, and now you're wheeling it through the airport – your portal to the next adventure! Before you know it, the sounds of your rolling suitcase have been replaced with the whooshing of engines as your plane lifts off into the night sky at full speed. Countless stars twinkle in the heavens with the promise of a thrilling time ahead. You lean back, close your eyes and dream of the adventures ahead one last time before they finally come true!
It's happening! Your adventure starts NOW! As soon as you step foot on Mactan Island, the excitement kicks in. Waterfalls, whale sharks, beach days? Oh yeah! Off to the city: 'Cebu, I'm ready!'
The sun is beating down, the city is buzzing – mopeds, street food, high-rises. You? Full on explorer mode. Time to make some memories! Toss your bags in your room and get ready to check out the city. And for the best views, just head the rooftop bars. Cheers to your arrival!
Did you know that Cebu City is the oldest city in the Philippines? No wonder there's so much history and culture to discover here! First stop on your self-made city tour: the Taoist Temple. Here, you'll find a particularly striking giant dragon that greets you in the temple's beautiful garden. One of the most important sights in Cebu City is the over 500-year-old wooden figure of Santo Niño. The Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan brought it to the island as a gift, and now you can visit it yourself in the Basilica del Santo Niño. You can follow Magellan's trail even further, too! After his arrival on Cebu in 1521, he had a cross erected, which to this day, still stands in a small chapel not far from the Basilica del Santo Niño. And when you get hungry – for street food or for souvenirs – you'll find just what you're looking for at the Carbon Market.
Cebu Island is full of waterfalls. Just listen carefully and the sound of rushing water will lead you straight to the first highlight of the day! You can start your self-made tour on your own, but deciding where to go won't be easy. From Bocaue, Balisong and Igutan Falls to Himbabawod and Dakit Falls, exhilarating views await!
When you're done, just take a relaxed approach to the rest of the day. Let yourself drift and do whatever you feel like. Grab your sunglasses and towel and head to the hotel pool. Or perhaps while you were exploring Cebu City, you saw a nice outdoor café that you didn't go into? Today's the perfect day for it!
