Hong Kong’s calling, and you're ready to answer! You're all prepped – on the plane, playlist on point, snacks in your lap. And inside, you’re feeling totally hyped! There's only one thing on your mind: tomorrow, you'll really be walking through this crazy city. Neon lights, street food, bustling markets and a mix of traditional and futuristic vibes await. You close your eyes for a moment and daydream, and moments later, it finally becomes reality!
Green hills flow smoothly into the turquoise sea, and small islands dot the scene like something out of a Ghibli film. In the middle of it all, Hong Kong twinkles like a glittering cape over the coast. With the epic skyline, neon lights and futuristic vibes, you feel like you're in a cyberpunk dream! It already wows you from above, and before you know it, you're right in the middle of it. What an absolute overload (in the best way possible)! You stroll through the next-level streets, past old tea shops next to stylish bubble tea spots, colourful markets and street food stalls giving off aromas that instantly make your stomach rumble. And after quickly dropping off your bags at your next accommodation, you soon head out again – no matter what your watch says. This city never sleeps, after all! 'Hong Kong, let's vibe!'
A little tip: Get the Octopus card directly at the airport (optional, payable on site). This allows you to easily move around the city on public transport.
Time for a deep dive into Hong Kong Island! On a leisurely stroll through the ‘Central’ district, you pass by colourful street art that transforms entire houses into the most beautiful Insta motifs. The 2,625-foot-long Central-Mid-Levels Escalators – the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world – take you to the stop for the Peak Tram, which carries you up to the Peak Tower (optional, bookable online in advance). From Sky Terrace 428 (also optional), you have a fantastic view of the city skyline, and should you want to go even higher, you can climb up to Victoria Peak and enjoy the ultimate view of the harbour and skyline. And if that's not enough, you can take a hike and check out the top-tier view from Braemar Hill. Afterwards, it's time to experience some cinematic history in person. Next stop: the Avenue of Stars, where martial arts legends Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan have been immortalised. Soak up the kung fu vibes, snap a selfie with Bruce Lee's iconic statue and enjoy the view of Hong Kong Island's gleaming facades. Next-level city vibes: check!
After a few days in the big city, it's time for some peace and quiet. And luckily, there's a true Zen spot hiding right in the middle of Hong Kong! Just a few steps away from Diamond Hill MTR station, you'll find the utterly tranquil Nan Lian Garden, where birds chirp, trees dance in the wind and the scent of flowers wafts through the air. Now, that's relaxing! Take a deep breath and let the sun shine on your face – recharge, complete! Next stop: the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Sha Tin. The way up here is a bit of a challenge, but hey, life-size golden Buddhas are there to boost your spirit every step of the way. And the vibe at the top is absolutely magical! Afterwards, switch gears and get set for dazzling lights, bouncing beats and pure energy. Step into the nightlife of the Lan Kwai Fong district and immerse yourself in its noise, colour and buzz. 'Cheers, Hong Kong, and see you tomorrow!'
