Huge skyscrapers, sparkling sea and the famous Palm Islands await. It's unbelievable that you've flown to a completely different world in such a short time! Your driver is already waiting to take you to your hotel, and once you arrive and unpack your bags, there's only one question left: venture into the city of modern architecture and luxury and plunge into its vibrant nightlife or check out the breathtaking hotel pool first?
'Hello, Dubai!' As soon as you arrive, you feel like you're on another planet. Skyscrapers shoot up into the endless blue, luxury cars line the streets – and the lifestyle? Totally extra. To kick things off, you cruise along The Walk and soak up the vibes. Then you're off to check out Dubai's biggest must-see: Palm Jumeirah – the iconic palm island with fancy hotels, bangin' beach clubs and the perfect spot for your next sunset selfie.
A stroll through Miracle Garden, where sculptures of all shapes and sizes come alive amidst over 70,000 square metres of colourful flowers, makes the perfect way to start the day. Continue on to the Burj al Arab, one of the tallest luxury hotels in the world, then pop over to a place that's no less spectacular: the world's largest shopping mall! In addition to around 1,200 shops, there are tons of other highlights to discover, such as huge aquariums with glass tunnels, a chamber of horrors, an ice-skating rink and a dinosaur skeleton! Just around the corner, you'll find the city's landmark, Burj Khalifa, the tallest building on Earth, where viewing platforms with spectacular views await you on floors 124, 125 and 148 (optional, bookable online). And in the evening, there's one thing you of course cannot miss: the famous Dubai Fountain water show. To get the best view of it, head to the terrace of the Apple Store on the first floor of the Dubai Mall.
Want to better acquaint yourself with Dubai's people and culture? Then wave to the beach again after a short morning walk and make your way to the Jumeirah Mosque. The snow-white mosque rises almost unrealistically into the deep blue sky and is sure to leave you marvelling. And if you want to head inside, six days a week, you can take part in a guided tour of the mosque starting at 10 am (payable on site). Muslim holidays, rituals, traditions and food – at the latest by the time the tour is finished, you'll know all about these things and not only have a gallery full of beautiful pictures but also a stomach full of local cuisine. Then make your way beneath the setting sun to Dubai's next landmark: the Dubai Frame. This remarkable structure consisting of two huge towers connected by a bridge is the largest picture frame in the world. And with a little skill, you can snap a unique pic of the golden Dubai Frame with the Burj Khalifa right in the middle!
