When you catch your first glimpse of Bangkok's lights, your spine starts to tingle and your heart leaps in your chest. As soon as you arrive, you snatch up your baggage and get set for your first stop: your homebase in Thailand's capital.  Settle in, take a deep breath and then check out your hotel: not some run-of-the-mill one but rather the tallest building in the whole country. The King Power Mahanakhon Tower looks like it's straight from the future, and that's exactly where you're staying – with a stylish room, a rooftop pool and a sky bar that's bound to blow you away. And of course, before you hurl yourself into the hustle and bustle, head up high to the Skywalk (yea, it costs extra, but it's totally worth it!). Not only is the view amazing, but it's also the perfect way to plan your urban adventure: you can see everything from up here and instantly know where to go next. The flickering lights of the night markets, the buzzing streets of Chinatown or the vibe on Khao San Road – no matter when you set off, this city's always alive. Bangkok never sleeps, so why should you?

The early bird gets the worm! So in the glow of dawn, you set off to discover the city's must-sees. The famous three golden spires of the Grand Palace shimmer at you in the distance, and it's absolutely royal. Not far from there, you see the blazing colours and fairytale towers of Wat Pho. Meditative chants resonate from the temple's interior, and for a moment, you forget that you're in the capital’s bustling heart. But the highlight has to be the enormous Buddha, laden in burnished gold and calmly reclining on its side. Now you want to see even more! As you climb the over 300 steps to Wat Saket, the temple's golden chedi towers before you and the view leaves you breathless. After that, it's time to get floral. You make your way to the Flower Market and suddenly find yourself in an aromatic explosion of pinks, whites and yellows, basking in a sea of heavenly fragrance. Bangkok's got you hooked! And in the evening? That's when things really get magical. Grab a drink in Bangkok's highest rooftop bar and catch chills as the city lights spread out below you like an ocean. Or treat yourself to a dinner that's just as stylish as your day – with views, vibes and mad tasty food.

As the city awakens below you and the temperature starts to climb, you glide silently through the pool. The cool water on your skin is simply divine. Rooftop vibes high above the streets – now that's how to start the day! A quick swim, a moment for yourself and you're totally ready to go.  There are loads of things in Bangkok that you definitely shouldn't miss. Among them aren't just temples and tuk-tuks but also delicious food, like pad thai. If you still haven't tried the traditional noodle dish at this point, here's an insider foodie tip for you: the restaurant Nunu Pad Thai has perhaps the best in the entire city – zesty, spicy and downright bangin'. And then what? How about a truly rare and authentic Bangkok experience: a boat trip on the Chao Phraya, the River of Kings (optional, payable on site)? Just sit back and take in the city from a whole new perspective, with a royal view of Wat Arun and the urban skyline. And if you're out on the water late in the afternoon, make sure to hop off at the Asiatique The Riverfront night market – it's only accessible by boat.
