Fun fact: Cebu City is the oldest city in the Philippines. No wonder there's so much history and culture to discover here! Kick off your self-made tour with a visit to the Taoist Temple. When you walk in, you'll find a giant, colourful dragon guarding the entrance to a spectacular garden – the perfect spot for a few selfies! Afterwards, check out one of the city's historic must-sees: the Basilica del Santo Niño, home to an over 500-year-old wooden figure of Santo Niño that the Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan once brought to the island as a gift. You can also find Magellan's famous cross in a little chapel right around the corner. And when you get hungry – for street food or for souvenirs – the Carbon Market is your place to be. Dive into the hustle and bustle, try exotic cuisine and experience that true Cebu feeling!

While you’re up there, check out Sirao Pictorial Garden (there's an entrance fee, but it's so worth it!), an absolute must-see where you can climb up a colossal golden hand and enjoy a picture-perfect panorama over the jungle. And of course, don't forget to snap a selfie with the iconic windmills of Little Amsterdam before heading back to the city centre! Fancy soaking up a bit of history once you're back down? Then head to Fort San Pedro, one of the oldest Spanish fortresses. And when it's time for a break, hit up La Vie Parisienne, a top Insta spot with a bakery, wine bar and café. Ooh là là!
