Mauritius and Seychelles: Road trip to dream beaches

Welcome to Mauritius! Fabulous beaches, mountain peaks, rainforest and waterfalls – in this little corner of the world, you find it all! You grab the keys to your hire car, step on the accelerator and your adventure begins. First stop: your accommodation. You find your glamping tent nestled in lush greenery, surrounded by the sounds of nature. But before the murmur of the river lulls you to sleep, you explore the area and familiarise yourself with your options – because here, it never gets boring!

Your first impression of Mauritius? Lush greenery, tons of colour and sea! You tuck into breakfast, then it's time to get to know Mauritius' hidden beauty: its colourful underwater world! With your snorkelling gear in hand, you board a special kind of boat with other adventurers and a guide at the beautiful Blue Bay Public Beach then set off along the coast from Point d'Esny and catch your first glimpse of fish through the boat's glass bottom. Shortly thereafter, the lagoon of Ile aux Aigrettes appears. Between the colourful corals and brightly coloured fish, you just can't stop marvelling. Afterwards, you enjoy a delicious Creole picnic on the beach on the private island of Ile des deux Cocos. White sand, turquoise blue water and you grinning contentedly as you savour mouthwatering cuisine – could it be any more perfect? On the way back, the boat takes you directly to the Blue Bay Marine Park, a true underwater paradise that you plunge right into.

Your spirit of discovery has been awakened! What's there to see here? The lodge offers you countless opportunities to explore nature. Grab a stand-up paddleboard or a kayak, set off on the Grand River South East and pass by beautiful mangroves on your way to a majestic waterfall. You know that feeling when you get to where you're going and it's even more beautiful than you thought? That's exactly what you get here. Just pause for a moment and enjoy the picturesque panorama. And when you're back at your accommodation, answer the call of the sea! Breathe in the salty air and feel the soft sand between your toes as you stroll along the beach and then cool off in the waves. If you're raring to get back at it after your afternoon sunbathing session, borrow a mountain bike from the lodge and explore the mountain landscape. As you pedal along the river, you'll constantly find yourself surrounded by sugar cane plantations, and on the way to Mahébourg, you'll discover small, hidden waterfalls again and again – that's Mauritius!
