But before the murmur of the river lulls you to sleep, you explore the area and familiarise yourself with your options – because here, it never gets boring!
Mauritius' ultimate beach vibes await, and you're raring to go! The Otentic Eco Lodge offers a daily boat transfer to Île aux Cerfs (registration required the day before), and all you’ve got to do is pack your swimwear and weigh anchor! At 9:30 am, you set off and glide across the waves of the Indian Ocean until you reach the offshore island dream. With bright white sand beaches surrounded by green pine trees and palm-covered landscapes, it's hard to believe how gorgeous it looks from afar – not to mention the beauty of the crystal-clear sea shimmering in various shades of turquoise. Once you reach the shore, you feel the soft sand under your feet and soak in the marvellous view. The best thing about this boat tour, unlike others, is that it takes you to the remote part of Île aux Cerfs, where you're able to get the most authentic island feeling. So spread out your towel and relax! The boat will take you back to the Eco Lodge at around 1 pm. And if you're up for some action, get back out there on your stand-up paddleboard or maybe try your hand at kite surfing!

And if you'd like to pay a visit to the king of the jungle, then lace up your hiking boots and take a hike from his back to his head. Even if the hike costs you a bead or two of sweat, the effort's totally worth it! Once you reach the top, a unique panorama and a magical moment await: a gorgeous view over the entire east coast to the turquoise-blue sea and shimmering white sand beaches – wow! And if you'd rather work on your tan and live it up on the shore, then make your way to the dreamy Pointe d'Esny Beach. In Mauritius, there's something for everyone.
