Your happiness has a name, and it's Kenya! As you lay eyes on this country full of savannahs, lions and elephants, you can't help but let out a sigh of joy. And what better place to start your adventure than Nairobi?
You arrive in the colourful capital, and the first thing you do is head to your accommodation. After checking in, you have some time to explore Nairobi's bustling city life. The KICC Tower offers the best view of the metropolis (optional, payable on site), and if the weather's good, you might even be lucky enough to see Mount Kilimanjaro! But even if the swirling dust obstructs your view, you can still see the city and Nairobi National Park. As you look at the park, you realise just how excited you're getting about your upcoming safari adventure. But first: Nairobi. If you're interested in the traditional life of the country’s various ethnic groups, then be sure to visit the 'Bomas of Kenya' (optional, payable on site), an open-air museum that boasts an exhibit of reconstructed huts and impressively demonstrates the life and social structures of the Kenyans.
You can't wait to finally embark on your safari adventure, so off you go! With a group of other adventurers, you get picked up and learn all about how to greet one another in Swahili as you're driven into the African wilderness. When you arrive in Amboseli National Park, you can hardly believe your eyes. The mighty, snow-capped Kilimanjaro rises majestically above the savannah and provides a truly astonishing setting that makes your glamping tents seem almost unreal. The best thing about it all? Your safari adventure starts right away. You take a seat in your personal driver's Landcruiser and cruise off into the heart of the national park's savannah, your binoculars always at the ready as you try to spot the first of the Big Five. At the end of the day, you celebrate around a crackling campfire and toast to the adventures ahead. Cheers!
As soon as you wake up, you are greeted by the sounds of the wilderness. As dusk falls, you come together and watch the sky above the savannah turn into a sparkling sea of lights. At night, you go on a night safari together. You drive out into the darkness of the reserve in an open jeep - above you the vast starry sky, around you the mysterious silence of the wilderness. The jeep's headlights scan the surroundings while your guide alerts you to any movement. You hear a rustle in the bushes, see a shadow scurrying across the track - and feel nature come alive around you. This is exactly what your everyday life in the camp feels like.
