Your happiness has a name, and it's Kenya! As you lay eyes on this country full of savannahs, lions and elephants, you can't help but let out a sigh of joy. And what better place to start your adventure than Nairobi?
You arrive in the colourful capital, and the first thing you do is head to your accommodation. After checking in, you have some time to explore Nairobi's bustling city life. The KICC Tower offers the best view of the metropolis (optional, payable on site), and if the weather's good, you might even be lucky enough to see Mount Kilimanjaro! But even if the swirling dust obstructs your view, you can still see the city and Nairobi National Park. As you look at the park, you realise just how excited you're getting about your upcoming safari adventure. But first: Nairobi. If you're interested in the traditional life of the country’s various ethnic groups, then be sure to visit the 'Bomas of Kenya' (optional, payable on site), an open-air museum that boasts an exhibit of reconstructed huts and impressively demonstrates the life and social structures of the Kenyans.
You can't wait to finally embark on your safari adventure, so off you go! Depending on your departure time, you may have some time to explore Nairobi a little closer before you're picked up from your accommodation to be enchanted by Africa's wilderness. When you arrive in Amboseli National Park, you can hardly believe your eyes. The mighty, snow-capped Kilimanjaro rises majestically above the savannah and provides a truly astonishing setting. You make yourself comfortable on the terrace around your glamping tent and take in the incredible scenery, your binoculars always at the ready as you try to spot the first of the Big Five. At the end of the day, you celebrate around a crackling campfire and toast to the adventures ahead. Cheers!
Is this a dream, or is this really happening? That's what you ask yourself this morning as you step out of your cosy glamping tent and are greeted by the African wilderness. The grin on your face grows bigger and bigger as you think about the fact that you're going on safari through the national park today. You're more than excited! You have the option of embarking on your adventure first thing in the morning or in the evening, but whichever you choose, it doesn't take long before you spot the first herd of zebras at a waterhole – wow! With your camera at the ready, you scan your surroundings and soon spot the next of Amboseli's wild inhabitants: a group of antelopes roaming the savannah in the distance. With a bit of luck, you may even get to see a lion or two! At the end of the day and after a successful round of exploring, you cosy up outside your tent with your binoculars in hand because who knows, maybe the crowning glory of your wilderness safari is lurking in the grass at dusk.
