Between tuk-tuks and skylines in Kenya's capital Nairobi

Sunglasses, bags, camera, a yearning to explore – you've got everything you need, and you're heading to the airport! As your plane rolls down the runway, you get more and more hyped about what lies ahead. You lean back, snuggle up in your seat and start dreaming of all the adventures that await you in the African wilderness. One thing's for sure: this is gonna be the trip of a lifetime!
It sounds cheesy but it's true: your happiness has a name, and it's Kenya! You can hardly believe that you're finally in the same place as savannahs, lions and elephants. But first, there's no better way to start your adventure than in the heart of Nairobi!
You check in at your airport hotel, and then it's up to you. Want to settle in first and swap travel mode for deep relaxation? Then pull on your loungewear, hop into bed and switch on Netflix. Rather see something right away? Then call a taxi or Uber (of course, at your own expense) and head straight for the city centre, past purple jacaranda trees and with the scent of the rainforest in your nose and Nairobi right in front of you. Or if your stomach's already grumbling, why not find a good spot for some grub? It's all in your hands!
The day starts early, but hey, you can't sleep on adventure! In the morning, you're picked up from your hotel and before long, Nairobi disappears in the rearview mirror as the backdrop of the Great Rift Valley opens up before you. You stop briefly at the viewpoint and marvel at the vast plains, rugged slopes and horizon that just doesn't end – simply 'wow'! Then it's on towards the Maasai Mara. And once you arrive at camp, your lunch is already waiting for you – just what you need before the first game drive! Camera and binoculars at the ready, you're soon off into the golden savannah. The light softens, the air shimmers and something moves somewhere in the tall grass – maybe a lion or a leopard, who knows?! You'd love to keep an eye out forever but as darkness falls, it's time to head back to camp. At dinner, the long day creeps into your bones. With tired eyes and a head full of memories, you disappear off into your tent. The starry sky glitters above you, wilderness rules all around and you're wrapped up in bed, in the middle of a true adventure.
Breakfast with a savannah view – what a perfect start to a day that takes you right into the heart of wildlife drama! Today, it's full-on safari mode. From sunrise to sunset, you roam the endless expanse of the Maasai Mara in a safari vehicle, always on the lookout for the Big Five, hippos and giant Nile crocodiles. The landscape's like something out of a nature documentary, but this time, you're right in the middle of it! The wildest lunch set-up of your life awaits between acacias and seas of grass: a picnic in the park, in the shade of a croton tree, with a view of the vast scenery. If you're here during the Great Migration, then lucky you! At this special time of the year, millions of wildebeest and zebra migrate across the plains in search of water and grassland, with predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas hot on their heels. It's one of the greatest natural spectacles of all – adrenaline, goosebumps and a racing heart included! What you witness here is something you'll truly never forget.
