Fun fact: Cebu City is the oldest city in the Philippines. No wonder there's so much history and culture to discover here! Kick off your self-made tour with a visit to the Taoist Temple. When you walk in, you'll find a giant, colourful dragon guarding the entrance to a spectacular garden – the perfect spot for a few selfies! Afterwards, check out one of the city's historic must-sees: the Basilica del Santo Niño, home to an over 500-year-old wooden figure of Santo Niño that the Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan once brought to the island as a gift. You can also find Magellan's famous cross in a little chapel right around the corner. And when you get hungry – for street food or for souvenirs – the Carbon Market is your place to be.
